Argentine Tango is a beautiful dance with a rich history and outstanding music. Originally men would teach each other and practice together before dancing with women. Today, people dance the Tango all over the world, and in many cities you can find Tango parties every night of the week!
The Tango is described many ways by many people: meditative, relaxing, addictive, energizing, romantic, calming, passionate . . . . and is best learned by taking class, dancing at practice sessions (practicas) and also attending milongas (Tango dance parties). I enjoy the rhythm of practicing steps that are familiar and also those that are new to me. I also cherish the feeling of regular Tango practice - it helps me to be more grounded and relaxed in my day-to-day life.
I welcome everyone to all of my classes, and I encourage more people from the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender (LGBT) community to dance Tango. Some classes will be especially for LGBT dancers, and I also organize LGBT outings to local milongas and practicas.
Enjoy!
